I'm sure you have sat around with friends around a campfire wishing that it were you playing the guitar and getting all the attention. Here is a little secret for you: you can do it too. Learning the guitar is very easy if you apply the right techniques. Playing the guitar is a skill you can learn, master and then teach to those around you.
Step 1: Buy the guitar
If you are interested in playing the guitar, the first thing you obviously need is a guitar. It is quite easy to find cheap quality guitars at music or department stores. The best thing to do is to bring someone who knows how to play the guitar with you, so that you do not fall into the beginners' traps to choose a guitar.
Step 2: Electric guitar or acoustic guitar?
Would you like an electric guitar or an acoustic one? Both have pros and cons. However, it might be cheaper to opt for an acoustic guitar since the only thing you have to buy is the guitar and a pick. If it is for a child, you may want to consider the option of purchasing an electric guitar because it is easier to play and they will have the impression of making more progress.
Step 3: Guitar teacher or online guitar courses?
Now you need to pick a guitar teacher. Should you want to play easy notes or simple songs, your best bet is to opt for online lessons or videos. Nevertheless, if you want to learn more complicated material-and also more interesting-you may want to consider the option of choosing a guitar instructor. They will give you personal attention and will be able to push one or two steps higher than if you were learning on your own. They will keep you on track and motivated, which is a huge advantage especially when you learn to manipulate a tool you may not be familiar with.
It's time to take the step
You should take a bit of time to learn the different components of a guitar and how to use it. Take some time to get really comfortable with your guitar.
